Bangtao Muay Thai & MMA is one of the largest and best equipped Martial Arts gyms in the world. Although only a few years old, Bangtao has become globally renowned for its outstanding coaching, extensive facilities and constant influx of world level fighters. Combine this with its amazing location being only a short walk from Bangtao Beach and you have a must-visit destination for all ages and abilities.

Bangtao Muay Thai & MMA boasts potentially one of the largest and most diverse training schedules in the world. Alongside Muay Thai and MMA, you can find BJJ, Wrestling, Kickboxing, Yoga, Hyrox and much, much more.

On top of all the normally scheduled training sessions, this camp also offers you the ability to take part in an exclusive seminar on Sunday 30th May with none other than internationally renowned striking coach and Muay Thai world champion Damien Trainor. Having been with Damien for many seminars and training camps over the years now, I can tell you that this alone will make this trip one you will not want to miss!

Although this Muay Thai retreat obviously has combat sports at its core, this does not make it an unworthwhile trip for anyone who does not train in Martial Arts i.e. those who want to bring family, accompanying partners, parents, siblings or children. For those wishing to do some physical activity outside of martial arts, there is a full schedule of fitness, health and wellbeing based classes.

For those that just want to relax, Bangtao Beach is located only a very short stroll from the gym itself.

"What will the training and schedule look like on this camp?"
Train at your own pace and level in Muay Thai alongside the exceptionally talented team of Thai instructors based at Phuket. Experience true Muay Thai within an unbelievably beautiful setting.

If you enjoy mixing things up, take part in Bangtao's full schedule of BJJ (Gi and No Gi), MMA, Kickboxing and Wrestling training sessions with their huge team of resident coaches.

Recharge your batteries by taking part in one of Bangtao’s many ice bath sessions throughout the camp.

"Can I attend the camp and only train in Muay Thai, BJJ or MMA? Can I switch to only training in the fitness classes?"
Yes, you don’t need to train in each art form if you don’t want to. Create your own training schedule out of the vast options available

"I am new to Muay Thai/Martial Arts, can I still join? I do not feel in shape at all, do you have to be a certain fitness level to take part?"

Yes, of course. As mentioned above, Bangtao Muay Thai & MMA is the perfect place for those new to training in Muay Thai, BJJ or MMA. All of the resident coaches are hugely experienced at working with everyone from first time novices through to experienced athletes. Camp attendees are not required to take part in every session. Sessions can be taken at whatever pace or level needed to engage and enjoy the training.
My partner/friend does not train in Martial Arts but wants to come. Would he/she be able to still participate in retreat?

Of course, this quite a common occurrence. We can either swap over the Martial Arts training to fitness, health and wellbeing based sessions or amend it to having no training attached for a lower cost.
"I am thinking of bringing my whole family. Are children allowed to train in the camp?"

Phuket is an amazingly beautiful place to visit for a family holiday. The retreat itself offers the beach in close proximity for children who are on the trip. Children are allowed and encouraged to take part in training if they have an interest in any of the Martial Arts styles on offer in the camp (sessions for children are separate to adult training classes). Ideal for those who have prior experience before coming to the island.
