Years ago, when the UFC first started out, fighters would typically train in combat sports such as Boxing and Muay Thai separately in order to work their striking. Fast forward to present day and the game has evolved massively. MMA striking has now taken on so many different facets and nuances as a result of both the smaller gloves and rules set, it has become it’s a standalone system within its own right. This is something world renowned MMA coach, founder of Diaz Combat sports in Vancouver and former professional fighter Ryan Diaz knows only too well. As a result, he formulated his own complete system of MMA striking drills to help those he coaches massively develop this aspect of their game.
Ryan Diaz competed at an elite level for many years before retiring to concentrate on coaching. His achievements include KOTC Bantamweight World Champion, AFC Bantamweight World Champion, Hook n Shoot North American Champion, 2 x PNW Champion, Fearless MMA Champion, Canadian Muay Thai Champion, Intercontinental Muay Thai Champion and ADCC veteran. Veteran of over 50 professional fights all over the world. Places include Japan, Hawaii, Abu Dhabi, California, Florida, Philippines. Events include ONE Championship, Strikeforce, Superbrawl, Hook n Shoot, TKO, KOTC, S-Cup (Shootboxing) Japan, Abu Dhabi Submission Wrestling Championships (ADCC) and Shooto Japan. He has lived and trained Martial Arts in Thailand, Philippines, Arizona and Las Vegas. Coach to many professional fighters including current UFC, Bellator MMA and ONE Championship fighters. He is also a co-owner of The MMA Lab (located in Phoenix, Arizona) with world renowned MMA coach John Crouch and UFC legend Benson Henderson.
