Damien Alamos Muay Thai Seminar

I am hugely excited to announce the return of Damien Alamos to Warrior Collective.

There are plenty of World Champions within Muay Thai, but relatively few Western fighters have travelled to Thailand, immersed themselves within the Thai system and gone on to achieve genuine success at the very highest level of stadium Muay Thai.

Damien Alamos is one of them.

A former Lumpinee Stadium Champion, WMC World Champion and WPMF World Champion, Damien built his reputation fighting some of the best Muay Thai fighters of his generation and developing a technical style capable of succeeding against elite Thai opposition.

Learn From a Genuine Lumpinee Stadium Champion

For generations of Muay Thai practitioners, becoming a champion at Bangkok's legendary stadiums has represented one of the highest achievements possible within the sport.

Damien didn't simply travel to Thailand and compete.

He became Lumpinee Stadium Super Lightweight Champion at 140 lb and went on to successfully defend the championship twice.

He also became a WMC World Muay Thai Champion and WPMF World Muay Thai Champion, establishing himself as one of the standout Western Muay Thai fighters of his era.

Perhaps even more significantly, Damien became the first non-Thai fighter to successfully defend a Lumpinee Stadium title.

That places his achievements within a very small group of Western fighters who have genuinely broken through at the highest levels of traditional Thai competition.

For Muay Thai practitioners and coaches, the opportunity to learn directly from somebody with that level of first-hand experience is incredibly rare.

Who Is Damien Alamos?

Born in Bordeaux, France, Damien Alamos began training in Martial Arts as a child before ultimately pursuing Muay Thai at an elite level.

His development would take him to Thailand, where he became closely associated with Singpatong Sitnumnoi Gym and immersed himself within the Thai training and fighting system.

Rather than building his reputation solely through European competition, Damien competed extensively against Thai opposition and eventually established himself within the stadium scene.

His achievements include:

  • Lumpinee Stadium Super Lightweight Champion

  • Two successful Lumpinee Stadium title defences

  • WMC World Muay Thai Lightweight Champion

  • WPMF World Muay Thai Champion

  • WPMF European Champion

  • Thai Max Tournament Champion

  • French Muay Thai Champion

His career has also seen him share the ring with some outstanding opposition, including the legendary Saenchai, while competing across Thailand and internationally.

After stepping away from competition for a number of years, Damien eventually returned to fighting and has once again competed against elite opposition on the international Muay Thai circuit.

A Western Fighter Forged in Thailand

One of the things that makes Damien an amazing individual to learn from is the route he took to the highest level.

He didn't simply adopt elements of Thai technique while training in Europe.

He spent significant time living, training and competing within Thailand itself.

That means his understanding of Muay Thai was developed inside an environment where:

Timing matters.

Balance matters.

Scoring matters.

Ring craft matters.

Composure matters.

And where technical mistakes are exposed by fighters who have often been competing since childhood.

Damien's success within that environment required far more than physical toughness.

It required him to understand how experienced Thai fighters manipulate rhythm, distance, balance and reactions – and then develop a style capable of competing with them.

For anybody interested in understanding authentic high-level Muay Thai rather than simply collecting techniques, that experience alone makes this seminar particularly valuable.

Technical Muay Thai From the Highest Level

Damien has traditionally been associated with a highly technical approach to Muay Thai.

His success wasn't built purely around aggression or physicality.

Instead, his fighting demonstrates many of the qualities associated with intelligent, experienced Thai-style fighting:

  • timing

  • balance

  • distance management

  • kicking

  • knees

  • counters

  • rhythm

  • defensive awareness

  • reading reactions

  • tactical decision-making

These are qualities that become increasingly important as practitioners progress beyond simply learning individual techniques.

Knowing how to throw a body kick is one thing.

Understanding when to throw it, how to create the opening, how your opponent is likely to respond and what comes next is something completely different.

That deeper understanding of fighting is one of the biggest reasons I'm excited to have Damien teaching at Warrior Collective again.

Returning to Warrior Collective After More Than Eight Years

This seminar is particularly special for me because it isn't Damien's first involvement with Warrior Collective.

I previously had the opportunity to host him for a seminar more than eight years ago.

A huge amount has happened since then – both for Warrior Collective and within Damien's own journey through Muay Thai.

Yet despite having worked with hundreds of fighters and coaches over the years, this will be only the second time Damien has delivered a Warrior Collective seminar.

That makes Saturday 14th November a genuinely rare opportunity.

I don't know when – or even if – we'll have the opportunity to organise another one.

If you're interested in technical Muay Thai and learning directly from somebody who has experienced the sport at a level very few Western fighters ever reach, I'd strongly recommend taking advantage of it.
